Homemade Filipino Burger
Jun 3rd, 2012 by niceyfemme

Most burgers nowadays are just so disappointing and I can’t help but feel scared for my baby’s health and feel cheated as the burger usually isn’t worth my money. So I decided to make my own. I thought, “How hard could it be?”. And I also want to use my meat grinder. 🙂

This is the second batch on the same day. Shows how much I like it.

Reminds me of Jollibee’s Burger Champ. To be honest and bias aside, I believe this taste even better! Just good old fashioned meaty beef goodness. 🙂 From the first batch.

How to Roast Chicken using Charcoal in a Big Pot ala Weber Grill
Jul 15th, 2011 by niceyfemme

For some reason I wanted roasted chicken that I prepared and cooked. But electricity cost in this country I’m in at the moment would make you think twice about using the oven for hours. And I’m cowboy this way. I have always wanted to try these kinds of things myself.

(Juicy and oh-so delicious chicken!)

I have observed how the local roasting shops’ machines operate, I think it’s very simple in fact. There’s just charcoal and the thing that rotates the chickens around so it all cooks evenly. Ohh I like lechon manok (roasted chicken) of Beski’s (?) but they have closed. (This scares me, a good business with yummy products and a very loyal market has closed..) So I decided to roast my own chicken and do it camping style.

No flash. I wanted to show the live coals which is not evident with the pictures with flash.

Steak with Veggie Salad
Jul 6th, 2010 by niceyfemme

So this is what I had for lunch today. Inspired by a dinner last week with Mommy in Kenny Rogers Roasters where we ordered Honey Bourbon Ribs and All Vegetable Salad… One of the most satisfying meals recently. Maybe because I’ve been eating egg and egg and egg for quite a while now. Variety really is the spice of life.

This is the photo from Kenny’s website. Hmmmn I have to say that it looks bigger in the photo haha!

One thing Mommy and I both agreed on was that the ribs tasted like tinapa! I guess it’s not a bad thing since that flavor is the smoky flavor I like.

I forgot to take photos of that satisfying meal. Hmmp! I remembered to take when there was only a couple bite’s left in our plates. And I left the camera in the car.

We headed out to the supermarket to buy veggies and meats to replicate that meal. Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, corn, carrots, croutons…. I’m not sure which BBQ marinade is best so I tried my luck with this brand.
