I love David Foster
May 20th, 2010 by niceyfemme

I have mentioned here before how much I appreciate Charice’s singing talent. The girl never fails to give me goosebumps every time she sings and that means she’s very good. She’s got that ability in her, making her audience get goosebumps haha. An international album singing her own songs, performed with great singers, met celebrities– she’s gotten so far from being the runner up in a local singing contest back home. All this became possible because of the nice people who helped her, and by those nice people I mean Oprah and David Foster. Wow. Talk about mentors and it’s hard to have better than that.

Her talent is undeniable but it’s not why I made this post. When I pressed the play button I expected to hear this young lady’s great voice but what I didn’t expect is David Foster’s soft emotional side. I shed a tear, that was how touched I was when the video showed him teary eyed and his voice breaks when he said that Charice gave him a letter and asked him to be her Godfather. David was holding back his tears. He’s like a father to her. Lucky Charice. To be surrounded by great talents and nice nice people is such a great blessing.

I now see David Foster in a different light.

Hey! Hey!

I had no idea the last post I made about Charice would generate such hating comments! WELL, I DON’T CARE!

First thing, read all my posts here regarding Charice not just the last one. I wrote that last one in a position where if it’s true then here is where I stand and if it’s not then good, WE WILL ALL KNOW IN TIME. READ AGAIN.

My sources? Again, read it again, this time read very well. I said I read that from a newspaper where two reporters wrote the same thing! That there could be some basis in it. One of them I know is realiable enough as it happened before already when she exposed something, the person involved denied it and called her a liar then years later it is confirmed true, she admitted it, straight from her own mouth.

To be fair, I still approved the comments, even the rude ones. Shame on you, you know who you are. Never go into a battle without ammunition.

I NEVER SAID WHAT WAS WRITTEN IS CONFIRMED. Don’t just say anything because you guys are mad. Don’t let your emotions take over you. When I wrote a good thing about her, you guys were nowhere. Now that I REPORTED a negative one, you are attacking me. LOL! Don’t make yourselves look like a fool and stupid. React if you are guilty.

I appreciate Charice’s talent BUT unlike most people, If I have to say something to remind her if she’s going astray, I’ll do it. This is real concern. Because you care too much, you yourself will get hurt if a bad thing happens to them so you’ll do anything TO PREVENT that from happening!

As real as it gets!

Charice walked out?!
Jul 17th, 2009 by niceyfemme

In this blog, I write about anything that interests me… Whatever is on my mind I write here and there’s no editor to stop me or anything… That’s the good thing and it means you will only get the truth in here, and nothing but…

And the latest is of the issue of Charice walking out of a dressing room? Another, is that her attitude has been starting to change?

In my previous posts, I gave Charice my honest opinion and pieces of advice to her, like what not to forget and to always keep herself grounded. However, these recent news circulating in Philippine Entertainment scene are definitely not good.

Starting with sources claiming that she walked out. Here’s the alleged story behind this. There was an event in Meralco theater and a lot of artists and performers are scheduled to appear. As far as I know, Meralco theater is a small venue as I have been there before. So quite a number of artists in a small venue with limited number of dressing rooms; it’s understandable if they have to share. Apparently, when Charice found out that she had to share the dressing room with two more singers, what she did was remove her name and walk out of there and transfer in another room. Hmmmm……

Another is that she’s not as nice and approachable now like before. That all these success she’s experiencing now is going to her head!

Here’s my say.

I hope all of these are not true, because if these happens to be true THEN YOU ARE JUST ONE OF THOSE. Remember, there’s so many talented artists/performers in the world and only a few are given these kinds of opportunity, do you want to waste them?

A great lesson in history is no matter how good you are, but if you have an attitude then you won’t make it. We have seen quite a number of actors and actresses who had the potential to make it big time and they were on their way to make it, but they just cannot handle all the success, they end up either pregnant or addicted to drugs or people disliking them and not supporting them because of these attitudes. Where are they now? One of those.

Or at the very least, wait until you’re as big as Mariah Carey, then, maybe then, you can can do that. But you’re just starting to climb the hill of success, you’re not even halfway there.

Talent is not enough. I know this myself. Performance that is exceeding of what’s expected equals to nothing when your colleagues do not like you. And believe me you’ll get affected in the end.

I’m just saying, what is wrong if you have to share a dressing room with other singers? Is it because you performed with the likes of Celine Dion that’s why you think you can already demand for things? Humility is the key here. I understand it’s not easy for most people to not have their success go up to their heads.

I only read one newspaper last night but two articles from two different writers wrote the same thing. It means there’s some basis here and not just one writer who doesn’t feel you.

I’ll never support an artist with diva like attitude, I’m sorry. I hope that all these are untrue. You will get interviewed about this in the coming days and I know you’ll deny this but time will tell if you either really became a diva or stayed a simple girl from the barrio. I hope all these are untrue though. Prove them wrong and maybe you’ll get the support back.

Talent with attitude means NOTHING to me.

Chills galore! Charice’s angelic voice

Another video that makes me adore Charice…. great performance with Mr. David Foster.. enjoy!

Btw, I think it’s kinda cute that my dad is now a Charice fan too! As an act of support to me (or spying? hehehe), he visits my blog…. He got to watch her video I posted, the first one, and he said this girl is awesome! No other singer impressed him this much… not even Regine Velasquez could sing this well…. The high note she sang so easily…. I got nothing else to say… but nod! 😉

Freddie Aguilar, crazy?!
Jul 13th, 2009 by niceyfemme

Here is Freddie Aguilar screaming on national TV… c’mon!

With Arnel, I did not involve him… Gary’s name was only mentioned, Regine also was called by that remark by Mariah, but actually I was only asked about Charice.

And I don’t have any grudge with Charice or Gary, nothing! I was just asked, asked about my opinion. Should I give an opinion I don’t feel about?

Charice you’re a good singer but I’ll believe in you even more if you’ll sing a song that is very own.

I didn’t mention the word monkey I said that is why we Filipinos are called monkey its because we are imitators. I’ll ask all Filipino singers why are you singing mostly foreign songs? That is my question, not what you are asking me why I am calling you a monkey, you asked to be called a monkey because all of you are imitators!

While I’m trying to understand where he’s coming from, I came up with this. I believe he’s got a different point of view, maybe because he’s from a different generation. We should try to understand him. Even though his words are unsolicited. RESPECT SHOULD BE TWO WAY. So, respect Charice and Gary and all Filipino singers and the songs they choose to sing and you’ll receive respect back.

Charice Pempengco soars high!

(With Celine Dion in Madison Square Garden)

She used to join a local TV singing talent search but did not win. She used to beg for shows. Now she is making it big. Just who is she?

She is a 17 year old singer who has the voice of an angel. She is one of the VERY few singers who can give me goosebumps with their performance. For me, goosebumps means very good. She has joined singing contest since she was of very young age but rarely win. Partly because Filipinos like meztisa beauty which she does not have. She has gone through difficulty in her life but that did not stop her until she makes it and now she has made it.

With just pure talent, she reached a different level. With her family, especially her mom as her inspiration she went on to continue.

The said singer became popular in some countries in Asia after someone with the username of FalseVoice uploaded a video of her in YouTube singing in a guesting abroad and some staff of Ellen DeGeneres, an American TV host, got in awe after seeing her perform, showed the video to Ellen then Ellen invited her for a guesting in her show, where she received a number of standing ovation from the audience in her performance. After that, Ms. Oprah Winfrey (who does not know Ms. O?) invited her to her show Oprah where she made everybody watch in disbelief what a great angelic voice she have. That started “it” for her. She was introduced to Celine Dion who is her idol as she grew up singing her songs and Mr. David Foster to guide her and her career as they truly believe in her talent.

Since then, she has been invited to perform with the biggest names in the music industry in the world from Andrea Bocelli to the memorable duet with Celine Dion.

However, when you are doing good, people will try to bring you down. As an evidence of her success, she is now being hit with some unpleasant issues. Worst one is from Mr. Freddie Aguilar.

To calm him down and make your fellow Filipinos proud, maybe next time, if given the opportunity to be in Oprah again, I believe it will be nice to sing an english song written by Filipinos. Like a Martin Nievera song, Gary V or even Regine Velasquez’s song. They have great english songs that can showcase the Filipinos talent for song writing in a language they will understand. Just a suggestion, up to you and the people behind you to decide.

Nothing else to say but keep your head up high Charice. Keep your feet on the ground. Keep it simple, continue being simple and people of the world will continue to love and support you.

Soar high and don’t forget where you came from when you already make it real big. We are so proud of you.

So watch it, and listen real good! What a voice! Great duet performance from the two. Favorite part is 1:46.. I watched it again just now and again, GOOSEBUMPS! 🙂 Enjoy!
