Johnny Air’s Bad Customer Service
Aug 20th, 2011 by niceyfemme

EDIT: AS of November 04, 2011, STILL NOTHING! Heard nothing from them and to be honest, I’m not expecting anything from them anymore. But never again will I bring business to them.
Totally bad service is something I cannot take. But living in the Philippines makes you prone to this. I do not get why this is because Filipinos are naturally nice and hospitable people specially to those they do not know personally. What I cannot take even more are people who feel so mighty high that they do not know how to own up to their mistakes and say sorry. Just that, a simple sorry will work and then try to improve and correct such mistakes.
I am writing to whoever upper level management executive who can take some action with this situation I unfortunately had experienced again. If Johnny Valdes gets to read this, the better.
Let me tell you what happened. I ordered a carbon steel wok from Amazon second week of December 2009 and conversed with Analyn Diego. I just had a very simple instruction, that the wok be brought to your Buendia/Dian branch as I prefer to pick the package there. Then after a month I was informed that the package was already there and ready for pick up. When my father and I got there, they had no idea about my package. They looked around them then told me it’s not there. And they had no initiative to find my package. I was the one who told them to look in other branches as I knew then that Johnny Air has a branch in Megamall. That was the time they made a call and that’s when they informed me that it was in Salcedo Village branch. My only instruction, to send it to Buendia / Dian branch was neglected. We decided to just drive to Salcedo Village and when we got there we weren’t given any attention by the female clerk whom I believe is Christine I am not really sure now. So the very first encounter I had with Johnny Air then (January 2010) was terrible but I thought maybe it’s because they are new and SOP’s aren’t well established then. But I must be honest that I almost lost my temper with the horrible service I received with all three of your staff and of the package being lost, lack of initiative is unacceptable too. But i just let it go.
Honda Recall 2011

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. Announces Voluntary Recall

February 18, 2011 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. recently announced a voluntary safety recall of some Honda Fit (Jazz in the Philippines) and City models to replace lost motion springs and retainers with countermeasure parts.

Consequently, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) would like to inform its customers that a total of 5,468 units of combined 1.5 liter Honda Jazz and 1.5 liter Honda City, distributed from September 2008 to April 2010, are included in the safety measure.

Findings show that the high surface pressure between the lost motion spring retainers and rocker arm slippers results to increased retainer movement that might lead to spring breakage. The broken spring will then come into contact with other moving parts within the cylinder head and this will initially produce noise and in worst case, may cause engine to stall. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this defect. With the total safety of Honda vehicle users as priority at all times, HCPI is taking this voluntary safety recall to replace lost motion springs and retainer parts of affected units. Jazz and City models with the following frame numbers are included in the voluntary recall:

Letters of notice will be sent to concerned Jazz and City owners starting February 21, 2011. To conduct the voluntary recall in an orderly manner, customers are requested to call their respective dealers or the Honda Hotline at 1-800-1000-Honda (46632) or (02) 857-7240 and visit our website,, for inquiries and details of scheduling. Replacement of affected parts will be carried out in all 28 authorized dealers and 3 service centers nationwide, free of charge.

Owners of Jazz and City models not included in the list above have no reason to worry since the affected parts are of different specifications. Other Honda models such as the Civic, Accord, CR-V, Pilot, Odyssey and HR-V sold and distributed by Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. are likewise not affected.

Alright. I’m getting stressed with this. Unfortunately, our car, a Honda City 1.5 E is included in the list. Of course, I have no problem with getting the car checked and fixed as it is for us car owners’ safety and our passengers safety as well. BUT. I tried calling their numbers and they were able to give me a date that’s more than a month from the time I called. What if you are out of the country then? Like I will be? So how? And it bothers me every time I drive to know that there’s some fixing that’s needed to be done. I’m such a safety paranoid even before all this came out so can you just imagine the stress I’m going through now?

As stated in their advisory above, there’s some replacing of lost motion springs needed to be done. I’m just glad it’s not something like the brakes that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. So far, our unit has been in perfect condition, running smoothly, engine so quite there’s an instance I forgot the engine is even on and I restarted it (BAD! I know…) and I had no idea there’s some fixing needed if not for the recall.

I’m just saying, the woman receiving the calls could be a little more nicer, sympathetic and flexible with this kind of situation and stop giving false hopes which they can’t follow through. Edit: The woman I talked to was not nice, but the woman Mommy talked to was very accommodating. She didn’t promise anything but that she will try her best to give us a new appointment date as I won’t be here on the later date they gave us. Then this morning, I woke up with messages in my phone saying I have a schedule this Monday! Perfect date! And she did really try. I honestly gave up hope that I could have Matty (the car) fixed before I leave and I don’t know I’ll be back so this new schedule is heaven sent. So thank you Randy or Rendi? Thanks again so much truly appreciate it.

Still I believe that if you love your car and you treat it like a human being, care for it like you would your girlfriend/wife, then it will also be good to you and it will not give you something to frown about. And I’ve been in love with Mattie ever since I first drove him so I know that I could still trust him with keeping us safe on the road.

Do you guys bet on lotto? We sometimes do. How do you place your bet? This is how I do it.

I pick my numbers then queue. I then look at the monitor(?) for the amount I need to pay. Turn out this is a wrong way.

Yesterday, I placed my bets in Lucky Circle Corporation in SM Bacoor and the monitor said Php 280. So I gave the clerk/teller Php300. She gave me back Php100. I gave it back because I should only receive Php20 change. Then she gave me my correct change and I left. In my mind though, I had doubts why my bets would cost that much. I always have an estimation with how much I’m suppose to pay (like a self imposed limit). So what I did was compute again all the tickets one by one. Turns out the correct total bill is only Php220. So how come I read there it was Php280?

I came back to the teller and told her that my tickets amounted to Php220 only. She asked for my tickets again and computed it. Gave me back my Php60 change. I felt bad. Why? She said nothing. That was her fault and she didn’t said sorry, worse she didn’t even look at least a bit sorry. Or ashamed about it. I told her, “Miss, how come I read there that it was Php280?, then she answered, I must have not deleted the previous thingy(?).” Ok, we’re all humans who makes mistakes I thought. I went on the side to fix my things but I still can’t contain my feelings like there’s some kind of scam there and I’ve been fooled. See I believe that when they look like they’re so used to that situation, that they really are doing that kind of scam. I called her attention (it was a dead hour then, no queue) and told her in my calm voice, “Miss, when you commit a mistake, learn to say sorry.” Again, no reaction or anything from her.

See I have this thing where I try my best to treat everyone nicely. Say please and thank you all the time and make everyone feel appreciated for whatever it is they do. I’m extra careful to not mistakenly make other people feel like I’m belittling them, especially those working SM jobs. For me we are all equal no matter what jobs we have and no matter what our status in life is. I can just imagine how they treat those people regularly filing for payday advance loan, they could be so mean.

Rich or poor, our attitude is non-negotiable. There’s just no excuse for bad manners. You are never too rich or too poor to learn how to say sorry, to admit and accept your faults. Plus your mighty superiority complex will just bring you nowhere.

Lesson here is you have to compute your own tickets and don’t depend on their computer which apparently they can manipulate the amount you have to pay. I hate it that I’m so trusting. I guess this just proves there’s nothing wrong with being a little doubtful once in a while.

Passport Releasing
Jul 23rd, 2010 by niceyfemme

Woke up early this morning as we headed to DFA in Aseana Business Park. Two weeks ago, I was in DFA to renew my passport but I had a minor problem with the original release date of my passport that’s why I was told to come back today. I was advised to come early (the officer even told me to come as early as 7 a.m.) so Mommy and I went early. Then turned out the Director’s Office (D.O.) is not open until 8 a.m so I had to wait there in D.O. while Mommy headed to her office in Makati.

After a few minutes Mommy came back. She forgot to give me the parking ticket so she asked the taxi to come back. The guards made it difficult for her to go in again and hand over the ticket to me. I told them they should be flexible! She cannot wait until I’m finished with whatever business I need to do inside. We have no problem following regulations, we were just asking for a little flexibility as they are SERVING the public who are HUMANS. They cannot just simply follow the freaking rule to the letter.

I also need to mention that I hate the arrogance of DFA people. Hello. Let me remind you people that YOU ARE SERVING THE PEOPLE, not the other way around. So many are complaining (and out loud at that) about how things are done there. Good thing I’m not alarmed by arrogance, I can handle myself. 🙂 I hope this ugly culture will change, PRETTY SOON. Hate it. Hate it!

So going back, from 7:10 a.m, I sat inside the Director’s Office where it was freezing cold. While I was freezing, I got to stare at just about anything inside that office.

The nasty chubby guard who seemed to get to everyone’s nerves (there were three people who got annoyed with him and his tone the time I was there), the nice clean surroundings with nice office furnitures and the unfriendly faces of the officers. It’s fascinating how hard it is for them to give a smile. Tsk tsk.

I got to talk to the same officer who told me to come back today. He just took the receipt and told me to wait again, this was around 8:15 a.m. Then I waited and waited and waited while freezing in that walk in freezer. I thought it’s funny how I was freezing there while I see the hot sun outside. Sayang ang kuryente I thought. It was so cold I was reminded of the first hotel I worked for where the cold temperature reaches the bone. So I waited until 10 a.m. Can you believe that passport releasing took 3 hours?

Wow. Unbelievable.

I’m just glad it’s just over now and I don’t have to go back in the place with awkward silence and frowning people. I really hope this changes. It’s not the essence of the job. I hope they are reminded of this.

It should be, “Service to the Filipino People.”

Just something I noticed in our local malls. Most female sales clerks tend to be grouchy than salesmen.

Hmmmn I don’t know if it’s because they’re not satisfied or happy with the salary given to them and with a lot of extras that are deducted even before they lay their hands on their hard earned money. Taxes, philhealth, and other deductibles for their social security benefits. A big chunk is deducted and they’re left with a small amount for themselves.

I just keep on thinking of reasons why this is the case. Maybe, this is how they are accustomed to; people who doesn’t change their minds with the products they want to buy, or do not ask about the products’ specifications at all. As a consumer I need to know things about the product, while the other party should know what they are selling.

I don’t want to complain. Really.

So every time I meet someone who is friendly, helpful, and warm without the fake smile and smirk, I commend them. From one Pinoy to another, we all need encouragement when we do something good or nice. In contrast, when I meet someone rude, I stand up to them. I just cannot accept that kind of bad treatment. Like everyone else, I guess being born and raised here, I am somehow used to how things are here; it means I’m not expecting over the top service like in first class hotels, but just bare minimum is all I ask. Just please do not be rude. If I happen to ask something, just give me a direct answer and don’t give me a frown like I am disturbing you for asking a question.

Just stating an unacceptable norm. I hope everything changes for the better. Long shot yes, but still possible. If only Henry Sy will share a percentage of his wealth to the life of this businesses. While I try to keep my patience longer, try to understand where they’re coming from but then I am myself is just human. Enough said.

I hate Cebu Pacific!!!
Mar 9th, 2010 by niceyfemme

I hate everything about this airline! The call center agent is RUDE, uninterested. I hate their system! Just rebooking they make it hard on us. Ok I just dropped the call. Too much already. First I waited for their call for 20 freaking minutes and when I was able to talk to this Louvelle she was rude. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and gave me the reason that their freaking system is updating. How long does it take to load??????
This is the reason why I prefer Jetstar over Cebu Pacific. I had an experience with them in 2008 when I only wanted to rebook a flight and they messed it up so I wanted to just cancel it. Then they wanted me to pay an expensive amount just to cancel. That moment I swore I’d never book a flight with them. But then stubborn me. My flights last year was with them as they are a bit cheaper. No problem as I didn’t need to re-book. Now this is what happened.

Rebooking should be easy! It’s not rocket science that why I’n frustrated that IT IS THIS HARD.

I need to rebook my return flight.

Smart Bro Connection: Sucks!
Jan 23rd, 2010 by niceyfemme

It used to be good. I mean I don’t have very high expectations from it, only to let me be able to browse and upload.

Then for about a week now, it started to suck. It says I’m connected but I can’t browse. I’m able to browse only for 5-10 seconds then it will stop.

I tried calling *1888 their hotline, and I have to press a lot of numbers and wait a few minutes before I was able to talk to a HUMAN. Then finally when I was already talking to a human, this human seemed to have no intention of listening to me. Then after repeating and repeating my problem, he finally get it then BAM! Connection Disconnected!

I had to call again, go through the grueling process and get this, I have to repeat explaining what my problem is. And the worst part? I have do this FIVE times! Because the connection kept on getting disconnected I had to call them five times! Explain and explain non-stop. This took more than an hour to do. I mean just to report and ask them to fix it but I GOT NOTHING. Just plain frustration.

It’s not the first time I experienced this with them. First time was when I tried their USB modem I bout at Php 4500.00 I think. It was new then. But it was the WORST EVER. It took forever to load Yahoo or Google’s homepage. I was literally falling asleep. I hate it. In the end I threw it out. Not worth having a heart attack for.

I hate customer service. Yes, it’s hell.

We went to Smart Business center in SM Bacoor and it was no different. It was a dead hour and we waited an hour and a half to get to talk to someone. Then she told us she made a report about my prob and I STILL have to call their freaking hotline. WOW!

It’s the same with other companies. Like Sky Cable. Tried calling their numbers here and it just kept on ringing and no one answered. I tried calling for two days. Alright, lost business right there.

I hate that we consumers have to go through this. We are paying customers and we deserve what we are paying for and we don’t have to kind of like beg for them to fix it. It should be working in the first place. It’s been a week now and I’m still annoyed and I have no energy to follow it up.

Yes, customer service hell!

Impressed with Just Host
Nov 12th, 2009 by niceyfemme

EDIT:  30 March 2010

So it’s been 6 months now since I signed up with JustHost in Oct 2009. To be honest I only signed up for 6 months so if ever they suck I could transfer to a new web host and I won’t feel like I’m a prisoner there because I have to stay because I paid for it. I signed up with JustHost in October 2003 after doing some research/browsing online. I wanted to read first whatever good and bad things real people has to say about different web hosts. I came to a conclusion that I rarely find anything negative written about JustHost and after checking their prices etcetera, I decided to sign up. Only for 6 months, so if ever they suck, I’ll transfer to another web host.

Now that the 6 months has expired, I renewed my account for another TWO YEARS. I am pleased. I accidentally deleted my blog before and had no back up (I learned my lesson now) and they helped me retrieve it. And fast.

They are also able to respond fast to some preferences of mine, like payment method. Will blog for any update soon. I want to wait if everything will be smooth.

I guess that is the best way to tell just how pleased I am, by staying longer, now for two years.

So far so good. I’m loving Just Host.

I’ve always admitted that I’m not a techie.

I didn’t even know what a domain is until recently.

So I learn by bugging people around with my question and by trying how things work myself.

Just a over an hour ago, I was trying to make a subdomain for a new project of mine.

I didn’t know how it happened but I somehow deleted this blog and made a website.

I got nervous and can’t believe it. I felt my hands and feet turn so cold.

I didn’t know what to do. I contact their Support, (eventhough I was a little hesitant because of my previous Customer Service hell experiences I had from other companies) sent an email, talked to an agent(?) then they got it back!

Being the techie phoebe that I am, I didn’t even know it’s possible. I really thought I’ve lost it.

See I’m not a very patient person. If I want something, if possible, I want it done, FAST.

I only waited a few minutes and they answered my call and get it back.

Thanks to Archie, Peter, Alex, and Brandon!

I’m glad this encounter with Customer Service is nice. Very helpful.

Needless to say, I’m happy with JustHost. 🙂

If you want to take my word for it then here… Click this and have peace of mind knowing your site or blog is secured….

Edit: 24 February 2010 (After almost 5 months with JustHost)

P.S. I’m writing this because I want to. I’m that impressed. I could totally recommend them. I don’t recommend just llike that because I don’t wanna be embarrassed if the stuff or program sucks. If you want to take my word for it here , it’s up to you guys.

Yup, After 8 months with JustHost, I haven’t had any problem again… And I’m even more confident to recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a reliable and affordable web host. Enjoy! 🙂

Sky Cable Select, a go?
Nov 4th, 2009 by niceyfemme

I’m thinking of subscribing to Sky Cable’s Select Plan… If you’re budget conscious as I am, then this is the best plan….

I checked their channel line up and I’m interested with their Starter Plan…

I’m after Asian Food Channel, so nice that it’s included in the package…. But Discovery Travel and Living is not included…. This can be added at additional charge….

I like Discovery Travel & Living so additional Php 20. So total of Php 300.00? Wow!

I wonder what’s the catch?

I’m just a little skeptical about having something installed again as I had disasters with them before. Also customer service hell. I don’t want to be kept on hold and be told “Your call is very important to us, we will attend to you shortly.” Twenty minutes later I was still on hold. Opps this example happened in Singapore hehehhe.. from Starhub… the latest customer service hell I’ve gone through… Though I experienced much worst from SmartBro when I still had their USB modem…. I so hate that one.

Also, I hope installation fee ain’t expensive and it won’t take them 48 years to install it. Hmmmn lets see. 🙂

*I have the smiley face here. Hopefully, I could keep the smile the whole process. 😉
