I’m not really an animal person. I don’t like cats as I’m scared they’re going to scratch me even though my parents always tell me pinaglihi ako sa pusa among other things. Dogs? I’m scared of them, I’m scared I’ll get bitten by one. Now there’s only one dog I’m not scared of and one dog I love with all my heart.

Yesterday I went to Bugis because I was looking for the local importer of Carnipure in Singapore. It turned out that they were still close (extended Chinese New Year celebration). So since I was already in Bugis I just walked around to kill some time before I go back home.
Of course Singapore is known for shopping and they have all the reasons one could possibly think of just to have a sale.
I just have to say that I’m so glad to share my small corner to people from around the world! Yes I know too many exclamation points but this is how I’m really feeling at this moment!
I’m overwhelmed to see people from many faraway countries arrive in this humble blogsite…. I totally appreciate what these Live Traffic Feeds and Flag Counter gadgets/programs widgets have done for this blog. Now, I don’t feel alone anymore. I know that YOU are here.
In a way I feel like I am in the countries you guys are at. I’ve always wanted to travel but financial constraints have been stopping me from doing so. Now if only I could visit the countries in my Flag Counter! That would be so great! I’d bring Mommy and Daddy and Bee and Bambi my dog. Hahaha! It’s free to dream you know. I shouldn’t feel embarrassed saying these kinds of things cuz this is my cyber home. (If I am shy here then where can I be myself then?)
So my thank you’s to the widget companies(?) of Feedjit ,Flag Counter, WordPress.org, Gravatar, Myshoutbox and the others for letting us poor people use your software/widgets for free. I love them!
Now if only I’m as rich as Oprah.
If only the richest persons in the world gets to read this and in just a snap decided to make my wishes come true! (I’m sure it won’t even leave the tiniest dent in their accounts heheheh)
(Btw, I love you Oprah!)

Update: Leo Allen Pangilinan has contacted his family and he is safe. Yey! This I got from Cecille VS. I’m glad he is safe and I do hope he update us as to what happened. Many many people got nervous for him.
When a love one is missing (literally missing) those who care just can’t seem to find peace of mind. It is one of the hardest situation to be in. I don’t even want to entertain the idea of me being in the same situation since I’m very protective of my family.
Because I get weak.
Is a noun; referring to someone who is afraid of using technological devices, such as computers.
Ok, I’m not really scared of computers and technology or anything hi-tech but it’s not my best friend either. It never came naturally for me.
Year 1998. Back then I was a freshman in high school and the internet was just starting to blossom. There were a few internet shops already but the operating systems were from the stone age. I didn’t even know what operating system was popular back then; actually I clearly knew what an operating system means and other computer and internet stuff just last year.
So going back in 1998, I wanted to “surf” the internet to go to Hanson‘s official website. So I rented a computer but I didn’t know what to do. I remember just staring at the monitor, basically have no idea what to do, looking at other computers and figuring out how to get there. I gave up and just ask someone to help me and I was embarrassed. So that day, I knew how to click the Internet Explorer icon.
You’d think that after that I’ll be better at it but no. When my classmates were all copying reports or doing their research from the internet I was still doing mine the old fashioned way which was going to the library. I just didn’t know how. Our Computer Technology class didn’t help at all. What with the MS DOS thingy? It didn’t help that he’s not a good teacher. He’s just nice and funny.
Then in college, our school had a free internet service for students in our library; that’s the time J and I just practiced to click and click and click. That was the time I knew how to set up an email account, how to browse the net and all the basic stuff. I knew how to research in Yahoo and only in Yahoo. (I wasn’t aware of other browsers then)
I’m not one to get hooked on social networking sites. Like in Friendster before. But then I create an account to keep in touch with friends.
Then from time to time I’d stumble upon funny photos that simply put a smile on my face and lighten up my day and I can’t help but collect them.
Even some funny shout outs or status. Of course I can’t print them here but it just shows that Facebook has really become a part of our daily lives. It makes the world even smaller for people to get closer together.
Kung Hei Fat Choi! Indeed!
So it’s Chinese New Year today.
It seems like just a normal day here. Nothing like how we Filipinos celebrate New Year’s at home. Here I just heard some drums and saw some Dragon dance a few times but that’s it.
The only similarity I noticed is how the grocery was full and a whole lot of people we’re shopping for food. But that’s it.
No fireworks. Nada.
Nothing like the jolly spirit we have at home. Reason why I’ll always, always going to be at home every New Years. So they celebrate quitely?
Makes me appreciate Filipino ways/culture even more. The good parts just to be clear.
Edit: Alright, there were apparently a few minutes of fireworks in some key locations like in Marina Bay (where the Merlion is) and in China Town. But still…. hehehhe
Wok hei (simplified Chinese: 镬气; traditional Chinese: 鑊氣; Jyutping: wok6 hei3; romanization based on Cantonese; the second character is qi in Mandarin, and thus wok hei is sometimes rendered as wok chi in Western cookbooks) is the flavour, tastes, and “essence” imparted by a hot wok on food during stir frying.
To impart wok hei, the food must be cooked in a wok over a high flame while being stirred and tossed quickly. In practical terms, the flavour imparted by chemical compounds results from caramelization, Maillard reactions, and the partial combustion of oil that come from charring and searing of the food at very high heat in excess of 200 °C (392 °F). Aside from flavour there is also the texture of the cooked items and smell involved that describes wok qi.
Been crazy for this wok hei for a long time now and have done some pretty crazy stuff just to have my fill. I’ve bought a pretty expensive wok in Amazon but I love it so it’s very much worth it.
I’m a sucker for anything healthy. If I know it’s something healthy then I want it.
Because of this I end up buying a lot of stuff I tend to forget I have.
Like this.
This is the type of rice I want my family to eat. It’s super healthy since first, it’s organic. Second is it’s gluten free. It’s brown rice (we all know the beauty of eating brown stuff from rice, to flours and sugars) and it’s basmati. Expensive no!
